This course offers up to 11 hours of CE credit.
This live, in-person introductory course includes 8 hours of hands-on training and is designed for licensed practitioners who want to build foundational Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) skills. Through a lab-based format, participants will learn proper IASTM application techniques while developing an understanding of when and why to use them in practice.
The course begins with an overview of the myofascial system, myofascial dysfunction, and the background and research supporting IASTM. From there, attendees will be introduced to instrument design, fundamental treatment strokes, techniques for addressing specific soft tissue areas and dysfunctions, and key treatment parameters and variables. The course also emphasizes clinical decision-making so participants can better integrate IASTM into an overall treatment approach.
